Rings on a Book

Bliss List was founded by newly-weds Chris and Sarah, who found it difficult to find the perfect wedding list service for their own big day. Getting married in our 30s, we already had most of the usual wedding gifts - crockery, cutlery and towels - and wanted something special.

Eventually, we set up three lists - a honeymoon registry, a traditional gift registry and a charitable donation registry. The response was fantastic, and many of our guests commented on how refreshing it was to be given the opportunity to buy something really different, rather than another blender for people they knew already had one! Overall, the honeymoon registry was the most active, followed by the charity list. The traditional gift registry came a distant third.

Bride with flowers

After getting married, we decided to set up our own company aimed at offering the widest possible choice for couples tying the knot, and Bliss List was born.

The idea is simple - we let couples create their own custom list that reflects exactly what they want. You can add any gift from any shop or website to your list, or choose activities or treats for your honeymoon and beyond! It really is your list for you to tailor to best suit your needs.

Guests can either reserve an item on the site from your list, buy it themselves and give it to you personally (thus preventing you from running the risk of ending up with five teapots, as can happen without a list!), or they can choose an item from your list and contribute the corresponding monetary amount to a fund held in your name with Bliss List. Once you close your list on or after your wedding day, any collected funds will be paid (minus a small commission) to you so that you can buy the gifts that you've selected.

"Asking for money from wedding guests? Isn't that cheeky?" we hear you ask. Well no - you are not asking for money, you are asking for money to buy the items on your list. If you choose to let them, your guests can always reserve the gifts on-line and purchase them in the shop of their choosing. Besides, the fact that most traditional gift lists allow you to swap items after they have been bought effectively means that they are a fund too - just a fund that has to be used to buy from a specific store.

Bliss List is a limited company registered in England and Wales (registration number 6013933).
